A ruined church of an ancient order, Beauly Priory is one of three priories founded in Scotland almost 800 years ago in 1230.
The monks travelled to the Scottish Highlands from Dijon, France and ardently practiced poverty, chastity, and obedience. Now a romantic ruin rich with history, Beauly Priory has mostly fallen away though the crumbling abbey church still stands today and is open to be explored by those wishing to better understand the world of an order of monks at the heart of nature.
