 Welcome to Scotland. On arrival at Edinburgh airport, you will be met by your private driver and transferred to your hotel. Discover the Georgian period New Town, the Old Town and the Royal Mile on your Hop-On, Hop-Off tour. Journey through the cobbled streets and courtyards and try and find Bakehouse Close where Jamie and Claire are reunited in Season 3. Your experience includes entrance fees to Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Yacht Britannia. At Holyrood Palace, you can delve into Jacobite history to learn about the historical context of the books.

Enjoy a morning at your leisure. Maybe take the time to check out the National Museum of Scotland to see some Jacobite artifacts, or peruse the shops of the Royal Mile, keeping an eye out for some Fraser tartan. In the afternoon, learn about Jamie’s favourite drink, whisky at the Scotch Whisky Experience. Try a dram of two single malt Scotch whiskies, following by a blended Scotch whisky. You’ll be an expert in no time!

Pick up your car rental and embark on your journey north to explore the Firth of Forth. Before crossing the Firth, stop to take a photo of the impressive Blackness Castle, which you may know as Captain Jack Randall’s Headquarters. Then continue to the village of Culross, known to fans as Cranesmuir. You may also spot Claire’s herb garden and Gellis Duncans’ house while strolling around this picturesque village. At your leisure, continue to Pitlochry in the heart of Cairngorms National Park. Why not stop and discover Falkland on the way? It may seem familiar as it was the filming location  for 1940s Inverness.

At your leisure, continue through the Cairngorms National Park to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Explore Inverness. The Old Town features an Old High Church, an indoor Victorian Market and the 19th century Inverness Cathedral.

Discover the history of your clan names and find out personal connections dating back to the 17th century. Before heading back to Inverness, why not stop at Beauly Priory and try and find the graves of three members of Clan Fraser.

Bid farewell to Inverness as you drive along the shores of Loch Ness, keeping an eye out for its famous monster.
